China Yunnan 2017

I'll be leading a casual photography trip to Yunnan, China where we'll get to photograph some of the iconic scenes of China such as the terraced paddy fields of YuanYang and the rapeseed flower fields of LuoPing. 

Join me as we explore this region in a custom-tailored itinerary that gives us plenty of time for discovery and photography.

Itinerary

Day 1: 11/2 Saturday

Depart from KL at 1305. Arrive at Kunming at 1655. We’ll check into hotel and have dinner and then have a bit of free and easy relaxing time to prepare us for our journey the next day. O/N Kunming hotel

Day 2: 12/2 Sunday

We’ll depart early in the morning to make our way to Yuan Yang on an 8 hour journey that will be worth every moment we spent on the road getting there. YuanYang is home to the world famous terraced paddy fields that have been around for generations and offer a spectacular view unlike any other. We will check in to our unique guesthouse in the late afternoon and explore the surrounding area on foot. O/N Yuan Yang guesthouse

Day 3: 13/2 Monday

We’ll rise early to catch the majestic sunrise over the paddy fields just outside our guesthouse. After breakfast, we’ll then head out to explore the surrounding mountain views of this terraced fields that have been being officially acknowledged by UNESCO as a World Cultural and Natural Heritage site.

Day 4: 14/2 Tuesday

Today we’ll drive to PuZheHei, an idealistic village with serene lakes and picturesque hills worthy of comparison to those in Guilin.

Day 5: 15/2 Wednesday

After breakfast, we’ll head out to capture the locals going about their daily lives in the morning and make our way to our next stop, LuoPing on a 5 hour journey. Here we’ll get to witness the beauty of rolling rapeseed flower fields in full bloom that goes as far as the eyes can see. We’ll be making a few stops at different sites that make this location a favourite with photographers, local and from abroad.

(Note: Although careful planning is done to coincide the dates of this trip to the full bloom of the rapeseed flower fields, we cannot guarantee that all the sites that we visit here will have full bloom. We will remain hopeful, and will work with driver to find the best spots to see the rapeseed fields.)

Day 6: 16/2 Thursday

Early morning we’ll check out and visit few more flower fields at JinJiChong and the waterfalls of JiuLong.

Day 7: 17/2 Friday

Today we’ll make our way down to DongChuan where we’ll get to see the unique red earth landscape that spans over 100 square kilometres with splendid rolling hills and lush green fields.

Day 8: 18/2 Saturday

After sunrise photography, we’ll be making our way back to Kunming. We’ll then check in to our hotel and settle down for a good rest and some free and easy time to check out what this city has to offer including markets and parks.

Day 9: 19/2 Sunday

We’ll have a bit of time for everyone to buy souvenirs and catch up on some last minute shopping in the city before gathering together at 3pm at the hotel.We’ll go to the airport for our 1740 flight back to KL, reaching at 2150 and home sweet home.
