Thaipusam is one of the biggest annual cultural celebrations in Malaysia and can be experienced in Penang and more grandly at Batu Caves in Kuala Lumpur. Devotees and visitors, both local and from all over the world find their way to the Temple Caves in Batu Caves, making it a spectacular event for photographers to capture some unique cultural and portraiture moments. You can learn about Thaipusam here.
I am organising an outing to Thaipusam day for you to practise your photography skills while experiencing a great tradition of Malaysia. Here are the details for this year's gathering:
Date: 9 February 2017, 6am at Batu Caves. Ends 9am.
Meeting Point: To be announced to registered participants
Cost: RM50 per person - due to the chaotic nature of the event, I'm only taking a maximum number of 8 participants, registration is confirmed upon receipt of payment.
What You'll Get
I'll be present to provide hands-on guidance and advise to participants on how to capture the various challenging shooting situations and navigate to the different spots for best photo opportunities without getting in the way of the devotees' rituals.
